Extended Legal Assistance may include:

  • requesting a review of a Centrelink decision by an Authorised Review Officer
  • requesting an internal review of a decision of the National Disability Insurance Agency
  • applying to the Compensation for Detriment caused by Defective Administration (CDDA) Scheme, where a Centrelink decision has resulted in substantial injustice or inequity and detriment
  • submitting an Act of Grace request, where there are special circumstances related to a Centrelink debt or unintended or anomalous circumstances resulting in payment ineligibility.

Extended Legal Assistance may include:

  • making primary claims with the Department of Veterans Affairs or the Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation
  • requesting internal review of a decision of the Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation or making a reconsideration request with the Department of Veterans Affairs
  • appealing against Department of Veterans Affairs decisions at the Veterans’ Review Board
  • applying to the Compensation for Detriment caused by Defective Administration (CDDA) Scheme where a Department of Veterans Affairs decision has resulted in substantial injustice or inequity
  • submitting an Act of Grace request, where there are special circumstances related to a Veterans debt or unintended or anomalous circumstances resulting in payment ineligibility.

Extended Legal Assistance may include:

  • requesting internal review of a decision of:
    • victims Services NSW in relation to a claim for victims’ compensation
    • Aboriginal Affairs in relation to payments under the Stolen Generation Reparations Scheme
    • NSW Reconstruction Authority in relation to disaster grants or payments.

Extended Legal Assistance may include:

  • Negotiating with an employer to resolve:
    • disputes about unfair dismissal
    • stand down
    • unfair de-activation
    • breach of general protections
    • underpayment of wages, or
    • unlawful discrimination.

Early Resolution Assistance may include:

  • Conciliation to resolve disputes about:
    • unfair dismissal
    • stand down
    • unfair de-activation
    • breach of general protections, or
    • underpayment of wages.

Extended Legal Assistance may include:

  • applying for a write off of fines debt over $5,000 or where supporting evidence is required by Revenue NSW
  • applying for an internal review
  • applying for a refund of monies garnisheed following enforcement action by Revenue NSW
  • applying to the Hardship Review Board following an adverse decision by Revenue NSW.
