The Reflection Project took place in 2024 and sought feedback from our legal stakeholders via surveys and discussions on the CLSD program. The Reflection Project considered:

  • Communication between the CLSD Program unit at Legal Aid NSW, CLSD regional partnerships and key stakeholders.
  • Whether CLSD partnerships effectively support collaboration between legal assistance services, community services and government, and the delivery of legal services to people facing economic and social disadvantage.
  • Opportunities to align the CLSD Program more closely with the objectives of key stakeholders.

The findings from the surveys and discussions were distilled into a report that included 17 recommendations regarding how the CLSD Program conducts its work, with the aim of improving the Program’s alignment with the priorities and needs of stakeholders. Broadly speaking, the recommendations fall into the following categories:

  • planning
  • relationships with stakeholders
  • use of data, including community feedback
  • training and development, and
  • program management.
