The Refugee Service is a statewide specialist service of Legal Aid NSW based in Fairfield. We help newly arrived refugees with civil (including immigration) law and family law legal problems. We can also talk with you about criminal law matters that you might be involved in. Our help is free and confidential.

We provide free legal advice and minor assistance to refugee clients in all types of civil and family law legal issues. Advice clinics are face-to-face at different locations around New South Wales.
If you need extra help we can represent you in Tribunals and Courts in many different kinds of matters. We can help with housing issues, problems with Centrelink, issues with the Department of Immigration, or if you need extra help with family law problems like getting a divorce.
We can provide face to face presentations and information sessions, workshops and attend community events across NSW.

The Refugee Service is based at the Fairfield Legal Aid Office. However the team provides an outreach service to a variety of locations (such as Migrant Resource Centres) across South West and Western Sydney.

We are available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Our office is closed on weekends and public holidays.
