The term 'veteran' has a particular meaning under the veterans' entitlements legislation.
In general, a veteran is anyone who has ever served in the Australian Defence Force (ADF) including those who are still serving.
If you were injured as a result of your service, you may be able to apply for compensation depending on the type of injury or impairment.

The Legal Aid NSW Veterans' Advocacy Service can help veterans with a range of legal issues including entitlements with the Department of Veterans' Affairs.
