This brochure explains how Legal Aid NSW can help veterans and their dependants with advice and representation.
Current and former members of the Defence Force and their dependents.
We help our clients obtain a Disability Pension, Service Pension, War Widow/er’s Pension, Gold Card, military compensation, and other entitlements from the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA).
We give free advice about your rights and entitlements under the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986, the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation (Defence-related Claims) Act 1988, and the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2004.

We can represent you in your application for review to the VRB, the AAT and higher courts.
This involves preparing your case, obtaining necessary evidence including medical and other expert reports, and representing you in conferences, negotiations, and at the hearing.
