Attorney-General, Michael Daley, has officially opened our new Broken Hill Legal Aid office at 32 Sulphide Street, Broken Hill.
Legal Aid NSW CEO, Monique Hitter, and Broken Hill Solicitor in Charge, Steven Wright, spoke to the Barrier Truth on the growing demand for legal help in the regions and the impact of this new office in improving access to justice for remote communities.
The expansion of service in Broken Hill will see Legal Aid NSW continue its partnerships with local service providers including the Far West Local Health District, Aboriginal Legal Service and Lifeline.
The Civil Law Service for Aboriginal Communities (’CLSAC’) and the Family Law Service for Aboriginal Communities (‘FamAC’) will work alongside the Broken Hill team to deliver wholistic, targeted and culturally safe legal assistance to our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
