Do Your Own Divorce is a free interactive guide to help people complete their divorce application online. The guide can help people understand and navigate the divorce process step-by-step. There are videos, checklists and resources that help people fill out their divorce form via the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia's website.

People can watch the ‘how to’ videos to show them how to complete and upload the divorce application and associated documents. The videos also go through other forms and processes people might need depending on their circumstances- such as affidavits, forms about financial hardship, and the forms about serving documents. Those who prefer text to video can read through the process and find resources. People can use the checklists to keep on track.

The guide is best for people who have reasonable literacy and computer skills.

Do Your Own Divorce is not suitable for everyone. We want to encourage vulnerable people to get legal help, so the beginning of the guide helps people work out of it is right for them. 

To see if Do Your Own Divorce is suitable:

Tip: If people do not have access to suitable equipment, you can refer them to their local library - they might need to join first but it is free.
